The Linda Black Softer Side of Horsemanship clinic for women at Windmill Junction in Claypool, IN, was AMAZING. Karin and I went together in her truck and huge trailer. Champ loaded like a dream and we had a wonderful time. The horses got huge, posh box stalls, we worked in an inside arena, the three women leading the clinic were great, Champ surprised me over and over the whole weekend, being really GOOD, and I rode for 4 hours Saturday afternoon and 4 hours Sunday. Karin and I stayed in a nearby motel and the group of women riding and auditing were lots of fun. The clinician, Linda Black, worked individual issues with each horse -- she spend quite a bit of time with Champ and two other horses. We sure got MORE THAN our money's worth!!!!!!! The two lunches included were healthy and plentiful both days. Plus, Candy Colbert, the stable owner/hostess provided coffee, tea, hot chocolate, fruit, pretzels, cookies and candy. I'm a little sore in some muscles, but was so interested, engaged and invigorated that the clinic -- and the rides -- didn't seem that long. WOW! (I was very pleasantly surprised my energy and stamina lasted through both days, I am getting much stronger.) The weather had mellowed and it was not hot, humid and miserable... I didn't even notice the weather -- meaning it was perfect. I am SO GLAD I was "brave" and took Champ (and myself) to this event. We both experienced vast improvements in many areas. It was like going to camp, we departed reluctantly. Barbara
